Recipe of Cabbage leaves stuffed with ham and cheese

Ingredients (4 people):

  • 8 cabbage leaves
  • 8 slices of cooked ham
  • 8 slices of cheese
  • 3 potatoes
  • 3 shallots
  • 200 ml of port wine
  • 50 ml milk
  • 1 tablespoon refined cornmeal
  • vinegar
  • Water
  • extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Preparation of the recipe for cabbage leaves stuffed with ham and cheese:

Cook the potatoes in a casserole with plenty of water and a splash of vinegar for 25-30 minutes. Let them temper and peel them. Place them in a bowl, crush them with a fork or with a potato masher. Pepper, add the milk and a splash of oil. Mix and reserve.

Clean the cabbage leaves and cook them for 5-6 minutes in a pan with plenty of water and salt. Dry them well.

Spread a layer of mashed potatoes on the cabbage leaves, place a slice of Ham from York and a slice of cheese. Roll the cabbage leaves and transfer them to a baking sheet smeared with oil. Spray them with a drop of oil and bake them (with the preheated oven) at 180 ° C for 15 minutes to melt the cheese and heat the packages.

For the sauce chop the shallots and put them to cook in the wine. Season Let reduce. Strain and drain it with a tablespoon of refined cornmeal diluted in water.

Serve the packages and sauce (if you wish, decorate with a parsley leaf).
