Ham with tomato recipe

Karlos Arguiñano teaches you how to prepare the ham and tomato recipe.


  • For 2 persons:
  • 4-6 slices of slightly thick serrano ham (120 g)
  • 1 glass of tomato sauce
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil


Put a large and low casserole dish on mid fire, add 2 tablespoons of oil.

Cut the garlic cloves in half, peel them and brown them in the pan.

Stack the slices of ham and cut them wide in three pieces

When the garlic is browned add the ham pieces to the casserole and fry them briefly (round and round).

Pour the tomato sauce and give it a brief boil (30 seconds) to mix the flavors.


You don't fry the ham for a long time, just round and round. If you fry it too much it will be very salty and you won't be able to eat it. You can accompany the dish with a fried potato in a pan. Simplicity and to succeed!
